<image:title>Partnerships - For The Children</image:title>
<image:caption>For The Children Digital Graphic 2020 Millennials and Gen Z – voters 18 to 38 – represent the future of this country and nearly 40% of the electorate in 2020. Yet, little if any of the content created by major campaigns is done so with them in mind. Project 270 is an effort to increase voter awareness and turnout, particularly amongst this age group, by flooding the country with Get Out The Vote (GOTV) images, posters, billboards, and other art in the three weeks prior to election day. The project will cover all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Our aim is to get critical information out through a creative medium that reflects the collective consciousness of the United States and motivates young voters to show up on November 3rd. To do this, we are partnering with outstanding graphic and street artists to create 52 state-specific (plus DC and Puerto Rico) posters. To maximize the reach and overall impact of the project, all imagery created will be made available to the public, for free https://manaurbanartsproject.com/project-270/</image:caption>

<image:caption>Critically Endangered Acrylic On Masonry Brick 80ft x 40ft Kansas City, MO 2020 Chicago muralist Mauricio Ramirez has completed a spectacular mural on the side of the newly opened City Club Apartments Crossroads Kansas City. City Club Apartments (CCA) Senior Vice President of Design & Brand Peter Burgoyne made the announcement. “This is an extraordinary installation, and we are pleased to be working with a brilliant artist in Mauricio Ramirez,” said Burgoyne. “CCA has long prioritized global wildlife initiatives, public art and community engagement, and this mural will not only be a local landmark, but a source of civic pride and a signature piece of art for all of Kansas City. This mural is part of our continued commitment on creating engaging neighborhood spaces, and to providing access to the arts and design by weaving it into the fabric of our communities.” City Club Apartments Crossroads Kansas City, a historic 5-story hotel conversion complete with a 7-story new building, retail and restaurant amenities located at the corner of Main and 20th, is a recent addition to the vibrant Crossroads neighborhood. The community is open and currently leasing its 283 apartments, duplexes, townhouses, penthouses and furnished apartments. The mural’s completion will represent the culmination of a project that began back on November 17 th . The mural’s subject, a spectacular rendering of a Western Lowland Gorilla, touches on a topic close to the heart of Jonathan Holtzman, CCA Founder & CEO. Holtzman, a longtime advocate for wildlife preservation, founded the Holtzman Wildlife Foundation, an organization that distributed $1 million annually for education, advocacy and the repopulation of endangered species. Ramirez, along with assistant Antonio Gómez, has been navigating the challenges of painting through continued construction and cold weather, suspended on a swing stage and applying what to-date has been 80 to 90 gallons of high-end outdoor paints and specialty nitro-acrylic spray. While creating large-scale outdoor art in fall and winter can be challenging, Ramirez has experience painting murals in places like Chicago and Milwaukee. “Not to be dramatic, but at times it feels a little like climbing Mt. Everest,” says Ramirez. “You put on multiple layers of clothes, and you have all of this specialized equipment. But once I’m on the wall, I just get lost in the work.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Murals - Virgencita: A Tribute to Heritage and Hope</image:title>
<image:caption>Acrylic on Masonry Brick 14ft x 70ft Minneapolis, MN 2025 This vibrant mural, located on the exterior of Supermercado Morelia in Minneapolis, is a deeply layered visual homage to Mexican identity, familial strength, and spiritual resilience. At its center, the revered figure of the Virgin of Guadalupe, "La Virgencita", anchors the composition, embodying both divine compassion and cultural unity. Her stylized, faceted depiction draws on modern digital aesthetics while honoring the traditional iconography familiar across generations of Mexican and Latin American communities. Flanking the Virgin are portraits of an elderly couple, rendered in the same angular mosaic style. These figures, dressed in festive and traditional attire, symbolize the elder generation, the keepers of memory and tradition. Their expressions evoke warmth and pride, suggesting a narrative of migration, endurance, and the unbreakable bonds of family. Surrounding them is a kaleidoscope of Otomí-inspired patterns, native florals, and monarch butterflies, each a symbol of transformation and transborder journeys. The mural, while rooted in sacred imagery, also speaks to the everyday sanctity found in neighborhood life, panaderías, markets, and shared stories. It transforms an urban wall into a shrine of cultural affirmation and community pride, asserting visibility and belonging in the heart of a diasporic experience.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Iconos 8ft x 52ft Mixed Media on Wood Panel Mexican Fiesta 2024 | Milwaukee, Wisconsin 2024 My work will feature a collection of past, present and contemporary icons and ideas that speak to the relevance of Mexican-American pop culture. As a Mexican-American, my experiences have led me to view how art and pop culture merge together creating sub cultures such as lowrider culture, street art culture, and altered underground 2nd market Disney characters. I have developed this mural to showcase my world view and reference early impressions from my memory from attending Mexican Fiesta during the 90s. I have also included cultural icons that have been immortalized such as Selena and the Aztec eagle warrior. My main goal of my work is to inform and connect historic cultural icons through contemporary design. Although the mural may seem overwhelming at first to the viewer, the design opens itself up to keep the viewer engaged throughout the 52ft long mural.</image:caption>

<image:title>Murals - Beatrice Morrow Cannady: Renewing a landscape to break down the barriers of race, color, and class prejudice</image:title>
<image:caption>63ft x 43ft Elastomeric on Masonry Brick 2021 The natural landscape of Portland, Oregon, has remained a silent force, holding the strength and power of multi-generational struggles, resilience, and beauty. The St. Johns neighborhood, located in North Portland, is a unique marker of this symbolism. The Columbia and Willamette Rivers coupled with Douglas Fir trees create a peninsula, wrapping and cradling the land as a constant reminder of what once existed before the city's industrialization. These physical reminders are often deeply connected to the day-to-day memories of both individuals and communities. Beatrice Morrow Cannady was known as a civil rights social and political leader in Portland, Oregon. As a Black woman, she inspired many with her courageous efforts to center the narratives, voices, and issues experienced by the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPoC) in a social climate that faced intense dissonance and racial violence due to the actions of the Ku Klux Klan. As an editorial writer, she used the power of the printing press to reach and educate the masses, empowering the visibility of Black communities' circumstances. Cannady's work as the first Black woman to practice law in Oregon and co-establishing the Portland chapter of the NAACP solidified her place in civil rights history - a history that would gain momentum over time as both a legal advocate and community champion. Looking forward, one can not help but recognize that we exist within complex communities- communities that continually experience the growing pains from carrying the weight of ancestral and multi-generational systematic marginalization. Like both our ancestors and the natural landscape, Beatrice Morrow Cannady continues to co-exist silently and resonate during the pendulum of our varying periods of growth and change throughout time. Knowing this, one can not help but smile when reflecting on the work and potential of how Beatrice Morrow Cannady will inspire generations to come.</image:caption>

The mural is designed to raise community awareness of organ and tissue donation, start the donation conversation and honor individuals and family members who have offered the gift of life. “Donation was new to me, but I was excited to create a narrative around that topic through art,” said Ramirez. “There are many symbols inside the mural; an hourglass, a heart, a butterfly and two individuals. The hourglass represents time; time that is given to those who receive transplants; time that stops for those who pass on; and time that is sacred for those who are waiting [for transplants]. Mauricio presents the artwork in a technique called “lo-poly” which gives the illusion of a 3D portrait through meticulously placed and colored geometric shapes. The mural works well when viewing from a distance but can also translate to abstract imagery up-close. https://www.edgewater.org/programs/public-art/</image:caption>

<image:caption>20ft x 77ft Acrylic on Masonry Brick - Colorado Springs Client: Colorado Springs Downtown Budget: $16,000 2019 I create artwork that crosses borders and boundaries ... My more personal artwork is a contribution to the community: frequently a cultural icon that transcends rich, intersecting historical and popular culture references that speak to the complex diaspora of the United States. I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of how the visibility of culture can lead to not only the growth of confidence, but also care within our communities.</image:caption>
